Charges laid against 18-year-old for violent Wells Road attack May 3
Tyreese Webber-Schooner charged with assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm

Charges have been laid against a Chilliwack man in connection with the violent assault on a youth on Wells Road in the early morning hours of May 3, 2026.
As a result of the investigation, the BC Prosecution Service approved charges of assault with a weapon and assault causing bodily harm against Tyreese Webber-Schooner, 18.
Shortly after 2 a.m. on May 3, Chilliwack RCMP responded to a report of an assault that occurred on Wells Road where a youth victim was transported to hospital with serious injuries.
"This investigation involved significant efforts by the Chilliwack RCMP Serious Crimes Unit and support from members of the public who provided valuable information," according to Const. Brennan Kish of the Chilliwack RCMP Serious Crimes Unit. "We would like to thank everyone who came forward to assist investigators. Their cooperation contributed greatly to advancing this investigation."
Webber-Schooner appeared in court on July 14, 2026.
