A troubled young woman who was listed in a September Crime Stoppers because she was wanted by the Chilliwack RCMP had a particular connection that made her story widely read.
Heather Reynolds is the niece of Ryan Reynolds, the world’s second highest paid actor in 2024, which gave the brief story about her wide attention, making it the seventh most read story of the year.
Metro Vancouver Crime Stoppers issued a wanted posting Sept. 12, 2025, for Reynolds, age 21, who was wanted out of Chilliwack for criminal harassment, publication of intimate image without consent, and a breach of an undertaking on a ‘K’ file, which denotes intimate partner criminal charges.

Heather’s father is Jeff Reynolds, one of Ryan's three brothers along with Terry and Patrick.
The Reynolds boys grew up in Kitsilano, Ryan the youngest of the four who has described Jeff as his first friend.
"I may have three older brothers, but only one Jeff," the actor wrote in a 2017 Instagram post in which he shared a cute photo of the two of them in front of a fireplace. "You were the first friend I ever had."

Jeff is the most private of the four brothers. His social media accounts are not public, and he's rarely seen outside of the occasional throwback photo Ryan will share, according to a July 31, 2024 article in People Magazine.
As for Heather, she attended Sardis Secondary School and The Education Centre, and had a troubled childhood involving drug use and getting into trouble.
The father of her alleged victim in the case for which she was wanted has spent considerable time dealing with Heather's alleged harassment.
She also lived in a group home in Chilliwack for a period of time. A former youth worker described her as being difficult.
In September, her Facebook account listed her location as Courtenay, something confirmed by the former youth worker.
She was wanted in Chilliwack because that is where her alleged offence occurred, and is where her alleged victim lives. The charge of publication of intimate image without consent is from May 28, 2025, and criminal harassment from June 1, 2025. She is also charged with a breach of an undertaking on June 18, 2025.
Soon after the Crime Stoppers post she did turn herself in and appeared in court in Chilliwack on Sept. 12, 2025.
She was released on bail without financial obligation that day. She then had brief court appearances on Sept. 23, Oct. 24, and Nov. 25, and is next due in court on Jan. 6, 2026.
“You can all stop reposting it now, I am OK, and I surrendered early today and am a free woman now,” she shared on social media. “I am OK. I dealt with it and am no longer warranted.”
Reynolds twice contacted this reporter with idle threats of legal action regarding the story posted about her being wanted. There is an open-court principle in British Columbia and all basic information about court proceedings that are not subject to publication bans is public and available to search at the court services online website.
