Murder victim's co-accused in dated vehicle theft arrested on weekend on outstanding warrant
Wanted man Christopher Edward Warren is co-accused on file with Corey Douglas Farmer whose remains were found in December 2023
The co-accused in a case of possession of stolen property over $5,000 from October 2023 was arrested on the weekend (July 19 or 20, 2025) on a warrant that was issued when he was a no-show for court on Tuesday (July 15, 2025).
The charge of stolen property over $5,000, which usually represents a vehicle theft, came against Christopher Edward Warren on Feb. 13, 2024 four months after Warren and Corey Douglas Farmer were arrested on Oct. 25, 2023.
At that time, the only charge on the file was a breach of probation against Farmer. A day later, on Oct. 26, 2023, Farmer was released on $500 bail and Warren was released on $200 bail. No charge was laid against Warren on the file at that time, according to Court Services Online.
Farmer then had court appearances on Nov. 17, Dec. 1, and Dec. 15, 2023. Then 12 days after that, Farmer's remains were found in a dumpster in the 46100-block of Princess Avenue.
The Lower Mainland's Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) was called in to investigate at the time and issued a statement looking for CCTV from the area that day.
"If you have information regarding Mr. Farmer or his whereabouts in the time leading up to his death, and have yet to speak with police, now is the time to come forward," said Sgt. Timothy Pierotti of IHIT in a Dec. 28, 2023 news release.

Photos of Corey Farmer from from Facebook posted on Nov. 25, 2023 a month before his remains were found, and from 2015 in Crime Stoppers.
On Dec. 29, 2023, the breach charge against Farmer was abated in provincial court in Chilliwack as were charges in two other files he had before the courts.
Farmer was well-known to police with several prior convictions dating back to 2013. The two other files he had before the court when he was killed were:
• possession of stolen property, carrying a prohibited weapon and possession of a break-in instrument from March 28, 2023; and
• driving while disqualified and driving while prohibited from Aug. 23, 2023.
He had several prior convictions for offences that included resisting a peace officer, using a stolen credit card, drug possession, dangerous driving, driving while prohibited and using an identity document without lawful excuse.
Warren did not have a first appearance on the charge of possession of stolen property over $5,000 until Feb. 13, 2024. He then had six more court appearances until a warrant was issued for his arrest last summer on July 23, 2024.
The case continued slowly with eight more court appearances until two weeks ago on July 8, 2025 when his trial was then scheduled for this past Tuesday, July 15, 2025. He did not show up, presumably, because a warrant was issued for his arrest and he appeared at 11:15 this morning, July 20, 2025, in the after-hours Justice Centre in Burnaby. He was remanded in custody put over for a consultation with his lawyer on July 29 in Chilliwack.
Warren has no other criminal matters in B.C. according to the province's online justice system, and there is no suggestion he was connected to Farmer's homicide.
Anyone with information who has not yet spoken with police, is asked to contact the IHIT Information Line at 1-877-551-IHIT (4448) or by email at ihitinfo@rcmp-grc.gc.ca. They can cite IHIT File: 2023-1722 or UFVRD RCMP File: 2023-53690.
