Chilliwack Mural Festival organizers hosted a small gathering Friday (July 18, 2025) at the site of downtown's latest piece of artwork by French graffiti artist Aéro.

Aéro was on site working on the finishing touches of the massive spray-painted piece on the south-facing wall of 9300 Nowell St.

There are 10 muralists painting walls between June 1 and Aug. 17 as part of the 2025 Chilliwack Mural Festival. Pieces will be completed in Downtown Chilliwack, District 1881, and in Sardis.

The muralists were selected by festival curators Carrielynn Victor and Amber Price out of 1,100 applicants, including Canadian artists from Chilliwack, Agassiz, Vancouver, and Toronto, as well as international artists from France and California.

There are dozens of murals across the downtown area to view after many years of the festival. This year there are workshops and tours running Aug. 7-17 with a street party Aug. 15 and 16.
