Driver of white pickup truck hit woman walking her dog, stopped briefly, then took off

Police are seeking CCTV and/or dashcam footage to identify a vehicle involved in an early morning Friday pedestrian hit and run in the Promontory neighbourhood.

On Nov. 14, 2025, at 6:41 am, the Chilliwack RCMP responded to a report of a 21-year-old female pedestrian who had sustained serious injuries after being hit by a pickup truck while walking her dog in the intersection of McSwan Drive and Rexford Drive.

The truck is reported to have momentarily stopped a short distance away from the collision site and then drove away. The female pedestrian was attended to by paramedics and transported to hospital for further assessment.

Chilliwack RCMP frontline officers with the assistance of the General Investigation Team is engaged in video canvassing the neighbourhood.  The truck is described only as a white full-size pickup truck believed to be either a Ford or GMC/Chevrolet.

Police want residents in the area to review their home security cameras and/or vehicle dashcam footage between the hours of 6 a.m. to 7 a.m. to help try to identify the pickup truck.  Given the location and time of day, the vehicle is likely registered to a local residence.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Chilliwack RCMP at 604-792-4611 and quote file number 2025-48716.
