44-year-old man charged with second-degree murder after body found in RV near Bridal Falls
Omer Ibrahim, 44, charged in connection with incident in May 2025
A 44-year-old man has been charged with second-degree murder for the death of a 42-year-old man found dead in an RV on Bridal Falls Road in Popkum east of Chilliwack.
Agassiz RCMP attended the location on May 19, 2025 to conduct a wellness check on a 42-year-old man. Frontline officers found the man dead. Police did not explain what triggered the wellness check.
Agassiz RCMP worked with the BC Coroners Service to investigate the circumstances surrounding the man’s death, and on May 28 the death was deemed to be suspicious so the file was handed over to the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT).
No further details were released until today, Sept. 17, 2025. The Agassiz RCMP stated in a news release that on Sept. 12, 2025, the BC Prosecution Service charged 44-year-old Omer Ibrahim with second-degree murder.
“IHIT would like to thank all of our partners for their support and assistance with this investigation,” Cpl. Sukhi Dhesi of IHIT said.
